Multi-Site Church
The Journey Church is a multi-site church for two main reasons. We desire to spread the Gospel of Jesus to as many places in the world as we possibly can (Acts 1:8). We desire to go meet people where they are, instead of asking people from surrounding areas to come to us. We want people to experience Biblical community in the areas where they live.
The Journey Church also has a desire to live out the Biblical example, which is provided in the Holy Scriptures. One such example is described in 1 Peter 1:1, showing an example of a multi-site church. Peter was using the most advanced forms of technology (pen and paper) to spread the Gospel to several different people-groups at the same time. This is exactly what we are doing at The Journey, using the technology we have available to go out and spread the Gospel of Jesus.
The Elders of The Journey set the vision and direction of the church. We realize there are many different methods that can be employed to spread the message of Jesus and, by no means do we feel multi-site is the only way. It is, however, the method God has called us to use in order to fulfill the vision and mission He has called us to.
